Hello, let's begin by cutting out the generic BS that you find on every designer's portfolio website 'About' page and get into to it, who I am and how great I am. 

 

I'm Sam, a UX UI Designer and a man of simple pleasures who loves 3 things in life:

• Football,

• Adobe Software,

• Video Games.

In that order.

 

As a Designer, I'm actually pretty great and confident at getting a job done to a very high standard, no, the highest standard. I can do it all from turning Lo-Fi Wireframes (Lines Drawn on Scraps of Paper) into Hi-Fi Working Prototypes, Recording and Editing Footage to create videos that accompany said prototypes, and all the Research and Due Diligence that takes place in between (Idea and Concept Generation, Initial and Further Research, User and Market Research, User Personae's, User Journeys and Stories,)

 

I'm also a big fan of Human Centred Design and Continuous User Testing Methods, I just feel they work really well, and seem like the most logical and natural way of working for most projects.

 

As a person, I'm the kid who taught himself how to use Photoshop when he was 12 because MS Paint wasn't cutting it. The same person who worked on a 1:1 Scale in Google SketchUp in Product Design Class, as opposed to just making the same shape at any size or measurements like everybody else. Why is any of this important? I'll tell you why, because, in my opinion, it shows that I'm not afraid to go the extra mile and do the extra bit of work if it means getting better results. Which it almost always leads to, if not at least you tried which is more than most can say.

 

I'm a fighter and I keep going to get what I want, even in the face of adversity or extreme pressure, my accomplishments and feats in video games alone are surely a good reflection of this. Seriously, Halo 2 on Solo Legendary, Blind... However, that being said I'm also a massive team player and love working as part of a group or team. To me, there's no better way of solving a problem than hashing out a few solutions over some beers at the pub.
